Grace in the Community
At Grace Episcopal Church we “seek and serve Christ in all persons” by reaching out to our community and beyond.
Grace Episcopal Church has a very active outreach ministry in the Norwood and surrounding communities.
Our small but mighty group of Norwood neighbors raised $2,260 on Saturday, October 4 by walking a 3-mile route around Norwood for the Ecumenical Community Food Pantry of Norwood. Thank you to all the walkers and sponsors!
And they're off!
Grace Church is well known in the Norwood community for its annual Christmas tree and wreath sale. The front lawn is filled with beautiful Nova Scotia balsams priced very reasonably!

B-SAFE: The Bishop’s Summer Academic & Fun Enrichment Program provides a safe, fun, academically enriching environment for 500 elementary and middle school children in Boston each summer. It relies heavily on volunteers from churches in the diocese to provide breakfasts, lunches, snacks, reading time and Friday field trips at one of six B-SAFE locations in Boston and Chelsea. Grace Church has been participating in this outreach experience since 2007 and is an opportunity to do hands-on outreach work in our own state. We have had the pleasure to help at the Mattapan site for the past several years and we partner with Church of the Holy Spirit in Mattapan to sponsor and work one of the five weeks of this summer day camp adventure. Recovery Meetings: We support those in recovery, and families and loved ones of individuals facing substance abuse issues. Our parish provides space for an AA group that meets every weekday morning at 7 AM and an Al-Anon group that meets Friday nights at 7:00 PM. For more information, see our Events Calendar.
Saint Rock Haiti Foundation: We start collecting much needed school supplies for the Saint Rock Haiti Foundation and on Christmas Eve we gather all offerings to send to the Foundation for their school programs.
Christmas Tree Sales: This event, held throughout the month of December, raises funds for the ministries of Grace Episcopal Church.
Blue Christmas: A holiday service offered to support those who are grieving from a loss or who struggle around the holidays.
Pastoral Care Team: This ministry to elderly, ill and hospitalized parishioners provides comfort and assistance through home and hospital visits and telephone follow-up.
Parish Facilities: The parish often furnishes use of the facility for support groups and community activities such as the Ecumenical Community Food Pantry of Norwood and Weight Watchers. Our historic Sunken Garden is the site of the Norwood Public Schools Sculpture Show each May.
